{ HalloWeek } Flappin’ At The Speakeasy

{ The Gatsby Dress c/o Electric Frenchie | Forever21 Faux Fur Stole | Joey Pumps (very old) | Forever21 Head Band | Vintage Chanel Clutch | Cocktail Ring – from Puerto Rico }

Last year I raved on about Halloween being one of my favorite holidays.  And around this time last year, I was probably on to my second DIY costume.  Although Halloween has on and off been on my mind throughout the year, schedules and budgets have changed quite a bit, leading to this year’s non-existent costume-DIYing.  (Booooo!  I know.)  But this hasn’t stopped me from celebrating, let alone dressing up.  Instead, I dove right into my closet and (a couple thrift stores) to put together costume-outfits.  So allow me to introduce HalloWeek, especially dedicated to my fellow procrastinators out there still trying to figure out last minute costumes.  Some of us–and I am especially guilty of this–get so caught up in the excitement of Halloween that we end up spending a fortune on costumes, accessories, and materials for DIY projects, and we forget that fabulous costumes may be sitting right in our closets.

Starting things off with a flapper-inspired outfit that I wore to my girlfriend Picca’s party last week, The Gatsby dress from Electric Frenchie was perfect!   All of the accessories I also already owned, so I opted in splurging on a fun bob wig to top off the ensemble–well worth it and no regrets here!

In saying goodbye to her roaring twenties, Picca put together a fabulous twenties-themed Dirty Thirty Birthday– The Speakeasy. Sad to say, this was her grand finale to five uhhh-mazingly planned and DIY themed birthday parties. It was a great run Dawwwlin! Glad to have experienced the last two!

Happy October!

    • Thanks!! I was able to wear this outfit out already, so I’m excited to wear the Cleopatra one this weekend! I love this dress as well, but it’s so fancy that it’s hard to wear out over and over again. Check out this post though, when I wore it casually as a skirt :)
